To equip young individuals with life skills Inkwenkwezi leverages the power of sport. We empower adolescents between the ages of 10 -19 to gain life skills with our in-school and out-of-school sports programme. This is an established programme, developed to address criminal behaviour in rural communities. By using cricket, netball, and soccer this life skills course addresses:
  • Bullying
  • Sexual reproductive health
  • Gender equity
  • Domestic violence
  • Drugs & substance abuse
  • Violent Extremism
  • Personal hygiene
  • Sports science
  • Human rights
  • Sex and sexuality

Game changer champions, adolescents from within the communities are recruited every year. They are trained with the skills and knowledge to implement the program. These representatives are mentored and coached by the project coordinator. Working with the local communities since 2015, Inkwenkewzi has established mini soccer tournaments and the Inkwenkewzi Netball League, after 5 years these leagues will be handed over to the local communities to ensure continued sustainable development.
