Sisanda left school after failing to pass Grade 12. Leaving school with only a Grade 9 certificate does not usually result in promising future employment prospects. Sisanda, did not let this discourage her. She approached IYDSF to participate in the skills development programme. Sisanda was part of the first cohort completing the skills development programme hosted by Mpekweni Beach Resort. The resort provided Sisanda and the rest of the group with training.

Following the training, Sisanda was offered employment at the hotel. She has been working there for more than one year.

Despite being employed full time, Sisanda continues to contribute as a Game Changer. She gives back to the IYDSF programme as an assessor, she assists youth who have entered the programme and are being trained. Her task in this role is to ensure that the host is providing robust relevant training and a safe working environment.

From a young age Sisanda was recognised as an asset by the community and as a response to her charitable nature, her nickname in her local community is Gold. She continues to work at the hotel to support herself. In addition to this, she uses her wages to support charity work in the community.
